| Creative Learning Introduction The West Yorkshire Playhouse Arts Development department works with communities, individuals and educational groups across Leeds and West Yorkshire. Projects are as diverse as training for nursery and early years workers to the creation of a nightclub run by learning disabled adults. We have just embarked on a new project working creatively with parents and their babies. Through Whole New Worlds we will be linking with a range of settings and organisations including Surestarts, Women's Prisons, Women's Aid, Early Years Centres and Private Day Nurseries. If you are a teacher, a community leader, a student, are involved in arts education, or are a member of the West Yorkshire community read on to find out more about our current projects. The Creative Education team run a comprehensive range of activities both at the Playhouse and in schools. Work extends from the early years through primary and secondary schools and on to FE and HE institutions. West Yorkshire Playhouse Touring Company performs at the Playhouse and tours to early years settings, primary and secondary schools in Leeds. Plays are devised or commissioned by the company especially for each of the target age groups. Work under the Creative Communities banner takes place in and for the community, with adults and older people and with young people out of school hours. |
