West Yorkshire Playhouse offers a range of activities to secondary schools and colleges in the region. These workshops and events often relate to specific Playhouse productions but we can also organise workshops relating to the ongoing curriculum in schools.

THEATRE DAYS

Theatre Days enhance your students’ visit to the theatre through a variety of activities including practical sessions, a backstage tour and meeting company members.

ENCOUNTERS

Encounters are a chance for your students to meet the people behind the productions and may include meeting the Company, the production Director or touring the set with the Stage Manager.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops can be tailored to meet specific requirements or can give a general overview of the plays. Workshops are available for all West Yorkshire Playhouse productions by arrangement with Creative Education

MEET AND GREETS

If you work with a group who haven’t visited the Playhouse before why not bring them along to meet staff at the Playhouse before you see the performance? Meet and Greets are available for all shows by arrangement with Creative Education.

RESOURCE PACKS

These packs include information about the productions at West Yorkshire Playhouse as well as interviews with actors and directors, production photographs and ideas for practical work.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Each season Creative Education offers a range of opportunities for professional development for teachers and arts and youth workers from Masterclasses with arts practitioners to Drop Ins with visiting companies and the Creative Education Team. Please see Play for full details.
